Vilgain — Omega 3
An omega-3 supplement in the well-absorbed natural triglyceride form, from wild anchovies processed in Norway, in a smaller 16mm capsule.

Why we love it
Omega-3 is one of the most researched supplements out there, but the detail that rarely makes it onto the front of the pack is the form the oil is in. Most of what you'll find on the shelf uses ethyl esters, which are cheaper to produce but less well absorbed by the body. Vilgain's version uses the natural triglyceride form instead, made from wild anchovies processed in Norway, and that's what caught my attention here.
Each capsule gives you 300mg EPA and 200mg DHA, and the oil is enriched with tocopherols to keep it stable and stop it oxidising. Oxidation is the thing that makes cheaper fish oils smell and taste fishy in the first place, so it matters more than it sounds. On top of that, the oil is tested for heavy metals and other contaminants beyond the usual industry checks, and Vilgain publishes the certificates for anyone who wants to see them, which I always appreciate in a category that can be a bit opaque.
These are the smaller 16mm capsules, so they're a good option if you find the standard 25mm ones a struggle to swallow. The trade-off is that you take two to four a day rather than one to three, since each capsule holds less oil.
